Web Management Defined

In our definition, Web Management is considered to be the function of beginning with a customers specification (or just a concept) for a web site, assisting the customer in deciding which type of web system required, bringing together the required skills to design and implement the site, and if necessary, provide a content and publicity management service to those customers having neither the time nor personel to undertake this task themselves.

At the same time this vision of the future for Graphicline dovetailed neatly with a business project I have had in mind for a year or so requiring a high end and advanced content management system.

With so many differing web content systems available today, it is not practical to expect to be able to master them all, at least not in a short, small business, timeframe. Customers however have their own individual needs, and one thing I discovered working in the RF communication industry when much younger, is that no one product or even range of products can provide a total solution to everyone.

With these factors in mind, the logical path seemed to be looking more to providing a comprehensive over-all service, where a wide range of technologies can be made available to the client, and the expertise of numerous professionals can be drawn upon.

I have a strong belief in having 'total oversight' of any business venture I undertake. To this end I need to get up to speed with several important web management systems. I need to know what the specialist skills contributors to a project are doing, and at least be able to fill in when required, in a competent manner.

This attiude has been instrumental in my decision to head Graphicline in the direction of holistic web management. In pursuing this avenue I can best utilise some of my stongest abilities; gaining and understanding new technologies, and implementing this knowledge in a structured manner in an integrated business environment.
